There was a general recall at the start. Several yachts had bunched together near the Committee boat, and some were forced to sail over the line to avoid collisions, before the signal to start had been given. The fleet headed off towards the Voose mark at the second attempt into a light westerly breeze. Jetta was first to arrive at the Voose mark, being fortunate to be able to make a port tack across the rest of the fleet without hindrance. Jabadeo and Forza! enjoyed a tussle for advantage with Jabadeo getting past on the way out to the Shag mark, only to be passed by Forza! on the way from Turning mark to Gew. Jetta gradually pulled out a useful lead over the rest of the fleet, finishing about ten minutes before the next boat to win the race and the IRC Series. Demolition was well placed near the finish before deciding to sail all the way around the Toll mark, when all that was required was to leave it on the starboard side. Magic Bus was second in the PY Series with Jacobi in third place. Jacobi's third in the race, secured first place for Tony in the PY Series.
