A light, fluky wind, mainly from the North West, saw the fleet of ten starters head out East towards the Nare mark. Jacobi led the way to the mark with her blue spinnaker, followed by the three J 92s. A tight reach followed, across to the Rosemullion mark. Jacobi chose to drop her spinnaker, while Forza! and Jetta tried to carry theirs, but as the breeze shifted to the North they were forced to drop theirs too, showing that Jacobi had made the right choice. On the way back into the River Jacobi pulled out an impressive lead of over fourteen minutes to win comfortably. Forza! now seems to be the fastest of the three J92s, after a recent racing visit to the Solent, and has joined the boats challenging for second place in the series. Jinjy was keeping up well with the following group and went on to secure second place, with Demolition third. This convincing performance by Jacobi gives her first place in the Late Summer Series, with the unusual achievement of four wins in four races.
