There was a brisk breeze of around 22 knots and a special course was set by the Officer of the day, with a start on the North side of the Committee boat. The first mark was the Voose buoy with a starboard rounding, and Roger McDonald made an excellent start in his Contessa 32. The fleet then headed out of the river to the Rosemullion buoy, with a chance to use spinnakers, and speeds of over 10 knots were recorded. Shere Khan, skippered by Roly Kirby, recorded a first place in the IRC class on corrected time, and came only 22 seconds behind Jetta, to secure second place in the PY class as well. With three firsts in the Early Summer series in the PY class, and two firsts in the IRC class, Jetta, skippered by Ian Wort, has been going well.
