Adult Dinghy Sailing
Adult sailing is held on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer and
provides friendly, informal tuition for adult sailors using the clubs
own sailing dinghies with full safety cover. The sessions are hosted
by experienced volunteer sailors and provide a wonderful opportunity
for complete novices to take their first steps in sailing in the beautiful
sheltered waters of our river. It won’t be long before you feel
completely at home on the water within an enthusiastic group of mixed
ability but like minded individuals. The skills you learn here will
stand you in good stead for all forms of sailing and you can develop
them further by joining in with the dinghy racing on Thursday evenings,
either as crew or sailing one of the club boats yourself.
Junior Sailing
Friendly informal group tuition is provided for youngsters aged between
8 and 16 years by experienced club members using Optimist, Topper and
Wayfarer dinghies with full safety cover on Friday evenings during the
summer. These sessions provide a marvellous opportunity for personal
development of our children acquiring the skills of sailing and seamanship
whilst having fun on the water. The sessions are open to all youngsters
regardless of experience. To download an application

Club Racing
Club races are held on Thursday evenings and Sundays throughout the
summer depending on the tide. The format for club racing is either a
line start from a committee boat or the popular pursuit races from the
Club Start Line. There are several series organised throughout the season
including a number of Cup races for club trophies. Club boats are available
for racing at the discretion of Captain Dinghies. See
results of Spring Series 2008.
