Adult Dinghy Sailing Homepage

On Tuesday nights when the tide allows the club holds sailing sessions for adult club members who wish to learn to sail or experience sailing one of the club dinghies. No previous experience is necessary and friendly coaching without any pressure is given by experienced club members. These sessions offer the opportunity for all club members to enjoy sailing on our beautiful river within a friendly social group. The skills learned in these sessions allow members to go on to all forms of sailing, in yachts or dinghies, racing or cruising. Many of our best yachtsmen cut their teeth in dinghies and many of the clubs finest racing crew and skippers still compete regularly in our dinghy racing.

In order to take part in these sessions you will need some sensible clothing and non-slip shoes. Most importantly you will not be allowed in a dinghy without a buoyancy aid of the correct size for your bodyweight. A small fee is levied as a contribution toward the cost of maintaining the clubs dinghies.
